Flights Lusaka-London
Everything is suspended now but my grandchildren in Lusaka have announced their plans to come and visit me. The folk on that continent can be refreshingly direct. As they put it "We want to see you before you die",
Accurate information is hard to get now during Covid-19, but we are considering Kenyan Airways, Ethiopian Airlines. Air Rwanda. Any other thoughts ?

I have no experience of Air Rwanda, but have flown on both the others recently and they were fine. Ethiopian has the slightly slicker fleet and staff, but then again they also have a recent crash...

Ethiopian are fine, especially UK to Addis. Dedicated staff - was taken directly from my inbound flight to my outbound flight without any transit procedure in order to not miss my flight. Initiative!

Ethiopian Airlines is I think the largest carrier in Africa.

Your question took me down memory lane. I was a stewardess for Zambia Airways in the 1960’s, and a 707? Leased from Alitalia, then flew once a week return from Lusaka, Nairobi, Rome, LHR
Hope you find a flight.
Hope you find a flight.

We have now gone semi-nomad from the UK, spending roughly equal time between the Caribbean, EU countries and Morocco with UK brief stopovers from time to time..
I'm loyal to BA because there are frequent flyer benefits BUT I input my rough/draft itineraries into Kayak.co.uk to check for the highest score and for flying/transit time and price. Then I go direct to whichever carrier turns out to be best and easy to book. I don't like the service offered by 'discounters' such as Opodo.
You can do this up to about 330 days ahead of time unless the carrier only releases its schedule from time to time as Easyjet and Ryanair do. However, Easyjet now have their schedule out to around September next year having released it last weekend.
Typical BEST routing from Lusaka in to London (and it's Heathrow), is indeed on Ethiopian (just that change in Addis), though for shortest journey time and slightly more money there is Emirates, with a change of plane in Dubai.

Will tell those involved about the 2 options proposed - Emirates or Ethiopian. As a fan of Menelik II I will suggest the latter.
