Default UK/US dual taxation and finances

I've asked this question a couple of times and got very little response, so I thought I'd see if there's anyone out there now who might help.

Is there anyone who's a UK/US dual citizen who has moved back to the UK and has assets in both countries who can tell me about the practicalities of dealing with taxes and finances in the two countries. How did you go about navigating the complexities of tax, investments and retirement accounts. Any recommendations for financial firms?
