Bookkeeping in Australia (Perth) - any tips ?
I have worked as a Management Accountant in industry for approx 20 years, and have now secured full NIA membership. As part of my move to Oz sometime within the next year, I am pondering whether I go back into Industry or start up my own bookkeeping business.
Apart from the obvious advantages (flexibility, self-marketing), there are of course many many drawbacks (eg. attracting new clients). Does anyone have any tips or experience they can give me, for example eg. does it pay well ?

Judging by my experience of attracting new clients in the UK it may be a bit of a credibility gap to attract clients in a new country where you have no professional reputation.
My view would be to go into industry with a longer term aim of your own business later. Just my two pence worth.

Check whether you need a practising certificate from NIA, or authorisation from any other professional body you belong to.
As someone else has said, probably won't pay well until you are established and perhaps not even then?
