Self-serve all the way.
I pay my hard earned dollars to pump gas on the floor. It's more that they put the pump in at weird angles or not properly and the gas back flows out of the opening.

The local Cumbies has been $2.19 for weeks now with their discount card. Went down to $2.13 this morning.

Everywhere else has been in the $2.26-2.32G range, except one of the bulk stores a town over who has been $2.06 for quite a while.

Most of this year the best price has been around $2.039 - $2.049, with occasional upward spikes up to $2.149, followed by a slow drift back down to the same price. Last weekend it was back up to x$2.149, but has slipped to $2.129 this evening.

Bizarrely a spike last week coupled with declining prices in another part of NC that I frequent, saw a price differential between the two towns, which is usually 15c-20c/gal fall to just 1c. There are short periods every 2-4 years when the area which is usually expensive becomes the cheaper place to buy gas for a few weeks.

Fuel level low light came on this morning, so I stopped at the nearest station to fill up at $2.49. I had to run home over lunch and it was down to $2.20-something. Typical

It's been $2.199 for quite sometime here.

...Although, only yesterday, the local Fox news station was trying to get it's viewers to feel sorry for the oil companies suffering big losses last year and that we can expect them to recoup some of those losses with significant rises in gas costs now that spring (???) is here.

Fuel level low light came on this evening, so I stopped at the nearest station and bought one gallon at $2.179 , which is just enough, with what is still in the tank, to get little Miss P to school tomorrow, me to work, and then back to another station on the way home selling gas at $2.119 .

Yeah. well I'm not from Yorkshire

But nah, too much of a faff for me given that if I had gambled and waited until lunch to fill up, the gas stations are close enough to work that at best, I'd have saved the cost of a gallon.

Gas prices have spiked about 15 cents per liter in the last week. Hovering around 1.38 to 1.42 per liter.

Apparently high demand in the US is raising our prices.
