The other option, which may be better, is to wait until the children are a little older and able to remain in Canada independently if they wish. That's probably the least risk option.
If citizenship is an option for the children and if there won't be a huge cost factor, then I think that route should be explored before moving

?
Just to reassure you we moved back from Oz last year with our 11 year old and 8 year old. I was worried about the same thing - 11 year old went from half way through grade 5 in Oz to starting Year 7 here, he's an August birthday so young for the school year here. I needn't have worried, the school is really good and he seemed to grow up by about 2 years in the first 2 weeks he was there. I find it really weird to think that he would be just about to start Grade 6 now back in Oz, he's almost like a different child and it's been great watching him engage in the learning and grow in confidence.

Thanks for all your reply's. Thinking about our dission will be hard but were planing on taking our time, Our eldest, we have decided would be better to finish grade 12 here, so that gives us another year, we have also just sent our citizenship papers off so will wait for that.
He can then have the choice to go to collage for a trade in England or just straight to a job.
Yes, lots of choices to make for us all. your ideas and experiences, just make us think of different things.

I would really encourage you to consider asking your children their opinions. They are old enough to have one, and they may surprise you. They may be interested in living in the UK for a few years. Especially if you know that they would have the option of moving back to Canada and that you would support them if they want to do that.
