Actually not too bad an area to live in. Lots of shopping malls and you will be fine with the car lease. Your hubby is working in Manhattan and can well afford to carry two car leases. BG lives in Ohio so what does he know.
My family's been in Freehold for nearly 30 years and their children have gone to school in Jersey although you might want to checkout the Mexican population in your school area if you have daughters. It was the reason why my niece was sent to Catholic School (at her choice) because the sexual harassment the girls had to endure.

I'll keep a watch out on your advice, I think though the school has quite a low ethnic mix although now it has two Brits, their only so I'm led to believe! Surprising seeing how many of us seem to be in this neck of the woods.

It's a real rip off way to get a car.if you have any money to scrape together to get a banger until you can get a loan or save up then that's what I'd do.

Welcome to the US! I made it with my sanity intact when I arrived last week after travelling with the kiddies and being away for about 20 hours!
Glad to hear you are settling in well. We just got cable/phone/internet hooked up today. We will worry about other stuff like furniture later!
