Fab! We can't do the first weekend though, as my dissertation deadline is 23April so I will be working round the clock to finish that off!

Either day the following weekend will be okay though. We live near Sedgefield in Cleveland, right off the A1 so can travel easily throughout the NE. Look forward to it.

So, here are some suggested dates. We will whittle it down to the most popular. Also, if you say where you're from we can find somewhere thats OK for everyone.

sat 21st April
sun 22nd " "
sat 28th
sun 29th

If we can get one in then, I might be able to make another one before I go

Anyway, let me know what you all think.

Blooming Heck, you lot are keen.

I'm only here because I've been on nights and not been to bed yet .

Well, I reckon from the replies so far we could probably decide on a date straight away. Will just have to go and check out who can make what!

OK. We'll make it 29th April. Then we can celebrate Gillian getting shot of her dissertation .

Again, I think half way between Newcastle and Middlesbrough would be best. In the past we've usually held them further North but to be fair to us folk from Teesside I think we should go halfway (not that I mind travelling and will do if its a problem for others).

Suggestions as to venue would be gratefully received.

Kids or no kids, again whatevers best for other folk. Although, Iwouldnt mind an evening meet in Newcastle before I leave. Maybe nearer the time

Would prefer to sort it sooner rather than later as I'll forget all about it if we don't sort it soon, lol.

will have to be kids for us
dont make it too far south - kids in the car for a long time is not too much fun!!!
last few meets we have been to have been sunderland and durham.

pubs with a play area are a good idea to entertain the kids
or what about making it a bit of a picnic somewhere (assuming the weather is ok?) everyone brings some food and drink? (Graz wants me to tell everyone that this was his idea!! )

good idea that is too

I dont think I've met you before. I organised the first meet in Hartlepool then Tiawamutu kindly took over and organised a few after that.

It would be great if we could make it a regular thing but, Tias already in Perth and I'm off soon.

As I said, I'm happy to travel depending on here people are from. If there's a lot from this way it would be fairer to meet in the middle. I don't know if I'll bring my kids but am happy for others to bring theirs. I know when we went to the Hartlepool one the kids got on great.

I'm still open to ideas re:venues
I think the picnic idea is great. We should pick somewhere outside and have an inside venue for a back up.

What do others think?

No we havent met yet

where would be half way? (sorry dont know exactly where you are!) - if we pick an area first then it might be easier to find a venue.
We could go for a beach and pick a spot where there is a pub nearby?

I'm in Middlesbrough.

I have only managed to get to 2 meets. The first on I organised was in Hartlepool. From what I've read on further meets there seems to have been more people at that one than later ones.

I don't know whether thats because the people who went there have moved on or if it was because it was more accessible to those of us down this way. It's a bit of a pain travelling an hour for those with kids. Thats why I chose Hartlepool. I'm not really bothered where it is but a bit closer than Newcastle would be good for me. There seems to be a few people in this area at the moment so we might get more interest if its more central.

I like the thought of a beach or picnic, previously its been in a pub with a play area.

It would be helpful if we knew who would be interested and where they are from.

Hi Burno, would be good to meet you. Will you be bringing kids along?

I'm not sure whether I'll bring mine, only because they aren't that interested but kids are more than welcome.
