If they appeal.............

of course like you said every case is different, in the case mentioned in the OP it seems this idiot just meant to attack a fire truck not kill an innocent child..either way though the kid is dead if he hadn't been firing the gun in the first place that child would still be alive..punish the SOB..so he's ruined 13 years of his life..so what..you have to be alive to even do that yeah?
all i'm saying is....if someone killed my kids....i'm sorry but I would kill back....would that make me a dreadful person who wants frying or locking up for life?....cos I know you would do the same

the reason I ask this is that my mate ran over a 4 year old on her bike because he never checked his blind spot and reversed over her.

He was suicidal, he lost it completely.
In the local papers the headline was "Child killer walks free"

no mention that it was 10.30pm at night in November and the kids parents were in the *****ing pub at the time.........

aww that's a tricky one...in an ideal world with a system that works the murderer would be severly punished and you would feel that justice was done, I don't think parents should go around commiting murders ...but then a system that lets a murderer out way too soon just leaves the parent feeling let down, frustated and angry..all that on top of the terrible grief.....

You would go to prison for a very long time as you had clearly spent considerable time planning the execution of an individual who had legally served his time and theoretically paid his debt to society. The differecne is that while the initial murderer may, over time, display genuine remorse (hence the parole boards decision to release him early), it is unlikely that you would.
