Cornish pasties
Roast beef, proper roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and gravey made with Bistos
Kurma with pilla rice and nan bread
Shoulder of lamb with fresh potatoes and mint
Fresh bread made with olive oil
Pavlova
Drop scones (pancakes)
Bacon hotpot
Chicken casserole with dumpling
Use jame Oliver's app on the iPad as well the cookbooks I brought with me from Scotland.
Have a hard time finding suet for the dumplings

Even worse, how much does a cup of oatmeal weigh? How many grams of butter are in a tablespoon? Where in the name of Cthulhu can I get caster sugar over here?
I make do. My stuff comes out looking like the pictures in the cookbook, and tasting good, so I suppose I guess right most of the time...

I would swap my child for a decent Indian curry. You just can't get good ones here.
I quite often make pasties - Pepperidge farm do a ready made frozen puff pastry and I just throw mince, onions, mixed veg and gravy in a pan and then bake them in the pastry for 30 mins. I sometimes do them with cheese sauce, ham and mushroom which works well too.
