Just to say,if you go for Honda Jazz Petrol on MM2H then its RM 36,800 presently.

Have recently put in my order.expect 2-3 month wait before picking it up.previous honda dealer told me its not currently available for mm2h just yet, but second dealer double confirmed with honda that it is.

I'm starting to realise anything can happen here in M'sia though .If they come back to say can't have it at that price, its a Myvi for me.

Agree with u there geedee.perodua try to keep 'em contemporary eh. test drove one recently and no real complaints.

and with 3 yrs warranty and servicing, a pretty good deal really.

a little odd, that they're cheaper in UK than M'sia

Hi

I've had a Perodua Alza since I've been here. Never had any issues whatsoever.

Sounded too good to be true and turns out it was. Honda have revised their 'mis-calculation' upwards..to RM55k.

Thats around RM7k more than a Myvi.
3 years free servicing with myvi, every 6 months.
Have to pay for servicing with Honda, and every 3 months .

After two years , could sell the Honda without having to repay the tax.so could sell for probably bit more than the RM55k price I paid maybe ?

The car is only really for me and the wife;just want something dependable .

Not sure which one to go for. Any sensible suggestions greatly appreciated, guys.

Hi Kenny,

I don't think you've got this bit quite right.
If you buy a car tax free under the MM2H programme you cannot sell it for two years.
However when you do come to sell your MM2H car some of the tax you saved at purchase will be re-payable, based on the value of the car at the time of sale.
You would need to keep the car for at least five years before no tax is re-payable, and even in year 6 you are likely to have to re-pay something.
Perhaps it's better to think of the tax saving at purchase as an interest-free loan that diminishes over time.

Hi JC3,

Thanks for putting things straight re the mm2h tax .

perhaps if got the Honda, might keep for 9-10 years then.no tax repayable after that time ,i'd say eh.

so for me its simply question of which is better/more reliable/cheaper to run. myvi: rm 48k with 3 yrs free labour and parts servicing, or jazz : rm 55k ,needs servicing twice as much and not free.

i'm leaning towards the myvi
