Hi Everyone,
My husband and I have recently relocated to Victoria, Bc with our 2.5 year old little boy
Im just reaching out to see if anybody else on here is new to the area aswell. Im hoping to arrange some kind of meet up for parents and kids to get to know people in the area and make new friends, both the adults and kids
Absolutely loving living here and now its raining it even reminds me of home
Although, as IM from the north west I still talk way to quickly for any Canadians to understand me..haha!! I need British friends who will know what Im saying..haha.
Hope to connect with others in the area

Thanks for the tips, Mac! The bakery looks worth checking out. We will def make a trip over there to check out Sooke when we finally land. Sounds like you are having a great time, and am more than a little jealous!
Will you be looking at self-employment there, when you land?
We are probably going to be in Victoria, but I guess it all depends on work. I am hoping to get work with either one of the Unis, colleges, or health authority, and OH is likely to end up downtown, so areas we are looking at checking out are: Gordon Head, Fernwood, Strawberryvale and surrounding areas of all 3, plus poss Brentwood Bay. Anyone have any opinions on any of those areas?
As we are still awaiting any action re med reqs, etc., I must admit, it does still feel a little like a pipe dream, at this (late) stage... but I am sure, once we are on to PPR, we will be all hands to the deck!
Anyway, I am sure you will continue to have a fantastic time, all the better with knowing your app is nearing finalization!

. We have excellent facilities within walking distance inc brand new parks, nice shops and a very good rec centre. The two schools are also very good (torquay elementary and Gordonhead middle school) all in all its the best of both for us........ My husband can cycle to work ( he is an RMN at the jubilee hospital), we are minutes from town and easy access to both highways as well as being able to walk a few minutes and be either on the beach or up mount doug. We do often head up Sidney way or take a drive up the Malahat or sooke and to us its a beautiful drive. Hope that helps a little.

If anyone is looking at Van Island/Greater Vic area I've posted our take on Sooke so far.
