With due respect, Brisbane is hardly a place that can be picked as a representative sample for Australia. It's like picking some mid western state/city for US ....

Oh - you live out of Brisbane? That explains it :eek:

I can tell you the cheapest (with some decent quality) bread loaf was 2$ when I was around in Sydney. Of course there could be cheaper stuff...

Appreciate that, however 44% is way too high if it were up to me. My argument was also around pushing smaller players out of market...yes spending smart is the answer however I am just highlighting...

I recently changed 1 tyre on my Mazda in AU and that was ~$300 fitted. I think it was either Mich or B'stone.

A third data point comparative & proximity to Toronto ……Australia is an expensive place there is no doubt about that. One just needs to google for the expensive cities in the world to get an answer..

Can't compare AU with UK but I can tell you US is cheaper in more categories than not - vast majority.
