The card is only proof of your status, you still need to flagpole to activate the visa and get PR status - once you've done that the PR card will follow in the post.

What kind of mechanic? Is he a supervisor (so NOC code 7216) or a heavy duty equipment (i.e. bulldozers etc NOC 7312)?

Oh, what a shame they didn't look in to it earlier.

They would have been able to sponsor you and your partner under the Alberta PNP as PR's, but unfortunately the Family Stream was stopped in...

Yes, you'd need either a LMO/TWP or AEO to apply as FSW cat 2.

As for your in-laws, which province do they live in? Normally a parent cannot sponsor an adult child, but some provinces do have...

Ah, I see. Well, it'll be reset on 1st July but 'the list' of eligible occupations is due to change then too, so there's no guarantee that your partner's job will still be on it.

See post no. 35, seems Johl applied under Social Workers. So he'll have to get new police check etc and keep fingers crossed it's on the list still in July.

Sorry to hear this.

Do double check the FSW application checklist though, as I'm sure it says on there under which circumstances you can use a copy instead of the original, and it may just apply...

As Fletcher said, no point in sending it then as you don't even know if it'll be on next year's list! Up to you if you want to spend the money on things like IELTS, etc, without knowing if you'll...
