The question of wills seems to be still unclear, according to who you speak with and also where you are in PT.

I spoke again to our lawyer when signing the contracts for our house and she again...

The consensus seems to be a will in Portugal is expensive.

What I need to confirm is whether our lawyer is correct about a translated British will being acceptable in Portugal, especially...

There are obviously lots of questions and probably even more possible answers.

The thing is, who do you ask to obtain a definitive answer, if that's possible. :unsure:

Hi JDR,

I would tend to agree, but I'm told Portuguese wills are considerbaly more expensive than Spanish ones.

When we had a house in Menorca, our lawyer charged €50 each for our two wills,...

British Wills in Portugal

Our lawyer, has told us that a Portuguese will is unnecessary if we have our British will translated and authorised by the British Consul.

Does anyone know if this is correct and if there are any...
