Not sure why this one has been getting so much publicity, other than it's chuffin "yuge" and its very early in the year to see them so far...

This day a year ago we got 50cm of snow. Tonight we're supposed to get 15mm of freezing rain. Not sure which is more desirable...:(

In this part of the world, the track of the weather system makes all the difference. Three days ago, there was a possibility of a heavy snowfall last night from a system approaching from the south....

Fortunately not my house, rather the next door neighbours. They've been frozen in that position since early December!

So, Tuesday we got 20cm of snow & schools were closed. It was cold for this part of the world at -8C and windy. Last night we got a further 15cm but the temp went up to zero so it was lovely heavy...

Ok, So then likely 2 stage, not 2 stroke! (Can't think that a 2 stroke snowthower exists) . 2 stage means that you have the rotating combine harvester bits (auger) at the front the break up the snow...

dbd33 has explained shearbolts. There will likely be two, one in either rotating combine havester type bit at the front. They are special bolts designed to shear when you hit something you didn't see...

It took me a while to understand the physics of snow fences. I attempted to use one alongside the drive and at the back of the house where the furnace flue gets buried but they were way to close to...
