Re: All the Gear

Movies, music, audiobooks, games etc. I have a 256 GB SD card in my Zen, and I have my entire music collection on it, plus a raft of other stuff to keep me entertained. It was a lifesaver given I...

Re: All the Gear

My Zen2 does as well - but the point is that the new models coming through don't - it's a hybrid sim/SD slot. And the cloud is not much use on long haul flights, and yeah, I suppose connecting to a...

Re: All the Gear

That's a pain in the arse, as the Z5 remains one of the few phones with a proper dual sim slot and an SD slot, as opposed to this hybrid slot garbage that lots of other manufacturers seem to be...

Re: All the Gear

But what does this actually mean in reality? I've not really seen much in the way of new features on phones for a while. And certainly nothing that would encourage me to pay the premium for a fruity...

Re: All the Gear

I've missed some of the posts on this thread - this bezel-less Xiaomi is awesome - I may consider buying one.

I agree with not buying an expensive phone - I bought an Asus Zenfone 2 and it has...

Re: All the Gear

I've got a Surface Pro 3 running Linux Mint 18 - and I can honestly say it is the best computer I have ever owned - it's a great bit of machinery.

The linux distro was written specifically for the...

Re: All the Gear

I've been on this bandwagon from the very beginning. People mocked my huge 5.5" Dell Streak, but the useability was exceptional. I never bought into the small screen smartphone.

I'm not...

Re: All the Gear

Too late now - I'm in Hong Kong - It was actually just as expensive in Duty Free as it was in Officeworks.

I should have looked into claiming the GST back though I suppose.

Re: All the Gear

I fully agree there! HR is the one with the permanent heart rate monitor on it - It was only $40 more for that functionality, so in for a penny.

Personally I can't really see the point of it -...

Re: All the Gear

The Fitbit was actually a lot cheaper from Kogan, but as I am flying out tomorrow, I needed a walk-in solution to purchase. This will teach me to leave everything until the last minute...

Re: All the Gear

She asked for it! Got it in Officeworks in the end - it was pretty good deal - $166 for the Charge HR, if that means anything to you.

Re: All the Gear

It was a bit of a punt, but I have a couple of Asus computers, and they have been excellent, so thought it was worth it for $330, and so far I can't fault it, but I do miss the pen. Another negative...

Re: All the Gear

I was going to do that, but couldn't justify the +$1100 cost. In the end I bought an Asus Zenfone 2 (4/64) and it's an incredible phone for the $330 I paid for it.

Getting about 48 hours of...

Re: All the Gear

Hmmm, not so sure. Look at how taxi drivers have responded to Uber - strikes, assaults, violence, marches etc. I'm sure they will embrace driverless flagfall cars in the same way...

Re: All the Gear

My GF's brother has a Surface Pro - it's a very nice bit of kit, but I still struggle to see the utility of a device without a proper keyboard. On screen keyboards still struggle to be any good in my...

Re: All the Gear

This is similar argument to the digital quantisation on CDs. There's very little point in ripping them at anything above 256k because the human ear simply can't hear the difference, despite what the...

Re: All the Gear

No, I wouldn't. The lack of USB ports is a killer. Function over form always has to come first for me.

The Apple approach seems to be to channel you intro buying the bespoke adapter, as it looks...

Re: All the Gear

Yeah, that's one of the big sells of the Note for me too. Being able to run two different apps concurrently is a huge win. Can copy and paste stuff from one to the other easily.

You can chat with...

Re: All the Gear

I keep meaning to look at the LG G3 Stylus. My Note 2 is starting to show some signs of being on the way out, but I am sadly now wedded to the stylus driven phone. I find the extra dimension of...
