I have not heard of such a requirement ("one-time duty exemption"). When I moved my stuff to Malaysia in 2015 was this not required from me.

Indeed, IVV, in times of crisis seem many financial instrument correlated to each other, even though in calm times they behave uncorrelated.

If you have enough time remaining after that crash you still have a change of recovering from it. So it better happens early in life than late in life. Plus, crashes help you learn that you should...

I retired at age 50, and am now living on an MM2H visa in Penang. I am not working. Not in a regular job, and not in some internet-based job.

Alternatively you negotiate with the house owner about changing certain pieces of furniture before signing the rental agreement. That worked well in my case (twice).

You could be correct in general but I think that it will take some more time in Malaysia before online shopping gets a strong foothold. The logistics for online shopping incl. home delivery is not...

I find this a rather tricky statement. The Ringgit fluctuates a lot compared to e.g. Euro and USD....
