Forget you "winter" clothes. Occasional jumper or coat, dump the rest. Worst case, ship them over with the rest of your belongings. Esp. if you come over here Spring time.

My take on Customs is that it is purely income generation and job security. They said the new bike was dirty. You can't argue with them.

Only issue I see if the daughter from previous relationship but with adoption you should be OK. I had to do without so my case was complex and I needed an agent.

Only way to avoid issues with customs is don't bring anything with you!

I love the heat. I suppose it's what floats your boat! We could have lived anywhere here but chose Brisbane for many reasons and the heat didn't factor as a negative - just a positive. I guess...
