Re: Can I use visa waiver programme after arrest?

I’m truly sorry to have taken up your time everyone.

I suppose I will go ahead and try to forget about it, after all, if I ticked yes on the ESTA it wouldn’t be my honest answer as I do not feel...

Re: Can I use visa waiver programme after arrest?

Please see a response from Lawyers. Don't know what to think.

Hi Gareth,

Unfortunately, I am not familiar with that particular English statute. When determining whether or not an offense is a...

Re: Can I use visa waiver programme after arrest?

Yeah. Just wondering what they actually have on the interpol if the US don't have routine access to the PNC!

Re: Can I use visa waiver programme after arrest?

D&D is a recordable offence, I don't know when this was put into place. It also states on the fine I was given it will be stored on PNC but only visisble on enhanced CRB's as it does not result in a...

Re: Can I use visa waiver programme after arrest?

Ian.

This is from wikipedia:

Penalty notices for disorder

Issued under Section 1-11 of the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001 [3] for public disorder offences and costing £50 for...

Re: Can I use visa waiver programme after arrest?

Yet another thing for me to worry about! :D

Ahhh well. If only they could see the sheer amount of alcohol at my disposal in my house and the fact that my liver sensibly avoided all the drunken...

Re: Can I use visa waiver programme after arrest?

Thanks Paul, pretty re-assuring. Don't want a petty little arrest years ago for being drunk flagging up and causing problems!

Re: Can I use visa waiver programme after arrest?

Ian,

I'm really sorry. This trip is likely to be my last to the US, which is why I'm so worried. I've been to the US for 24 years on the run before this arrest and as I'm moving home and hopefully...

Re: Can I use visa waiver programme after arrest?

I am worried yes, but I am attempting to reassure myself that my crimes are not moral turpitude and I should not feel guilty about ticking no. My minor incident is recorded on the police national...

Re: Can I use visa waiver programme after arrest?

I know. I was just wondering if you think if the word any should be there, or is it 100% just about moral turpitude?

Re: Can I use visa waiver programme after arrest?

My return flight is 6 days later...

Sorry to come across as dumb, but the question regarding arrests on the ESTA form asks:

Have you ever been arrested or convicted for a offence or crime...

Re: Can I use visa waiver programme after arrest?

Yes I have a return ticket. I just thought that as it was my own fault for trying to enter, i'd have to stump up the cost of the next return flight. Would that mean I'd have to sit around in a cell...

Re: Can I use visa waiver programme after arrest?

Panicking again now, contacted KLM who I am travelling with who advised me that I must contact the US Embassy, apparently it states in their terms and conditions I must check I am eligible to travel...

Re: Can I use visa waiver programme after arrest?

Nope. Just an arrest for drunk and disorderly which thankfully doesn't fall under CIMT category.

Thank's very much for all of your help. I appreciate it!

Re: Can I use visa waiver programme after arrest?

Yeah I wasn't sure. My parents went the other month and I was under the impression they had to hand it in to the border agent when I asked them about it.

So ESTA approved. But couldn't anyone lie...

Re: Can I use visa waiver programme after arrest?

Nothing is on there that would make my inelligible. Can't say I'm lying if their own government website does not have anything that makes me inelligble! Just (hopefully) being paranoid.

Re: Can I use visa waiver programme after arrest?

I honestly don't mean to come across as annoying. I just have a doubt in my mind, I just hope the arrest doesn't show up on the police national computer (if they have access) and for the border agent...

Do you by any chance know of any stories of people being denied entry at the border due to a minor arrest in the past?

Should have guessed that's what you meant, I do hope you're right!

It's the 1% part that worries me...

Surely there are hundreds if not thousands of tourists that were arrested many years ago...

Re: Can I use visa waiver programme after arrest?

My ESTA has been accepted, obviously this is not the answer to the possibility of being denied at POE. The US department of state website lists disorderly & drunkeness as non-CIMT and because of this...

Thanks for your input and helping ease my stress a little!

Is there anything in writing that confirms a single arrest of a non-CMIT is acceptable?

Why does the US Embassy not divulge into the...

Re: Can I use visa waiver programme?

Thank you for your response.

Does the ESTA actually confirm I am elligble to travel though, as it wouldn't run checks for criminal record would it?

I am just worried about the US having access...
