8gb will be fine for a week.... but for a fiver I'd go for the 16gb and then you can stream netflix at will.

Flying home tomorrow and only booked last week so there were none of the usual uber bargains on the broker site I always use. Generally I get an SUV / softroader but this time I have....... a mini....

Had one of them last time. Quite impressed as usually i'm not a fan of Nissans.

TBH even if it didn't have satnav and I didn't have my phone I would never hire one at the 25 odd quid a day they...

That's proper dirty. I use those guys too and generally have middle of the range cars. Never experienced that though.

Yeah, the majority do now, although I have had a few that don't and the hire car folks will tell you you're not allowed to use the one one on your phone which is BS.

I like Waze and TBH have no problem using Google Maps either....

Don't see the need for a standalone GPS.

Most cars have them built in now anyway..... well unless you go for the cheapest hire...

Buy a sim when you're there for 10 - 25 quid. Something like 5 - 15Gb.

If not, you can download the maps in google earth now before you go (use wifi obv). Takes up a bit of memory but once you...

Tried this many a time and it never ends up working on my phone, hence why I just but a UK sim. Also, it lets me truly turn off my UAE life for a week or so.

If you put a UK sim in you will still be able to access your UAE contacts and have access to your emails....

And if you 100% need your UAE number active buying a cheapy smartphone would be cheaper...

Agreed. Get a 20 GBP sim in arrivals, it'll have a data package.

I like to use Waze rather than Google Maps. Generally find it better as its users add info in realtime so crashes, jams and coppers...
