Usually 30kg check in per person for long haul. I be surprised if anyone here will have checked ALL the flights on this basis. Plus max 7kg carry on per person

It can depend on the route and type of ticket you buy. Usually if you get a cheap non-cancellable economy ticket then you only get 20 or 23kg or otherwise maybe 30kg if you get a flexi fare for example. You might get some extra if you have frequent flyer benefits or belong to whichever air points / club is applicable to a particular airline.
It might be more economical to air-freight an extra bag rather than pay the extra cost of a fully flexi fare.

Check Air NZ they I believe with economy offer a second 23 kg bag for a reasonable fee on the LA/UK route.

currently on hols in UK we got 30 each with Cathy Pacific plus 7 for carry on
jetstar also gave us the same for our connecting domestic flights

I got 30kg last year on Cathay plus 7kg cabin and same again this year on Royal Brunei - I think that is the standard for long haul. This year's flight was on special at $1500 for August which is pretty good.
