Yes, sounds like nabe. I like the non-seafood version.

Fresh, locally sourced and sustainable wild salmon, caught by a responsible and knowledgeable artisan fisherman, soft tacos with a mango salsa and avocado.

Influenced by Geordie George I plan on a bacon and cheese sandwich with "brown sauce" which the interweb says is HP Sauce. It's something new but I'm willing to put myself in harm's way. If I cook the bacon then assemble everything and grill it in a skillet as grilled cheese I should be ok.

I don't normally go along with the "it's not the same in Canada" theory when it comes to stuff like Cadbury's choc or Heinz beans or Kellogg's cornflakes.

But in the case of HP sauce it's really not the brown sauce I know from HP in the UK.

There's a nice brown sauce in Jack Daniels type bottle. I think it's even called Jack Daniels BBQ sauce. Gives bacon rolls a nice zing.

You missed the boat on the bacon and cheese there.

Ooh this sounds yum. I may try this this week sometime (obviously I'll be skipping all the artisan b*^^*<€s).

I made a pie. Beef mince, onions, and carrots. The weather demanded it

I could go for that right now. Actually, I'm not too hungry but just cooked 6 chicken thighs with something called Droolin' Dragon Seasoning Salt and lime juice and will probably eat 1 or 2 later and make chicken salad sandwiches in the morning.

Culinary disaster tonight.

Overcooked pork ribs - I under estimated the power of the Actifry - and an extremely tasteless fried rice. Fortunately I had a fried egg on top of mine so at least the egg was good.

I don't understand why the fried rice was so bad. The last one I made was really very good and all that was different for this one compared to that one was no green pepper and a bit less soy sauce which ran out.

MIL does fried rice much better than me so I'll hand that over in future I think.
