Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
Issue with parcels coming to Canada from Asia seems to be CBSA from what I have gathered from Canada Post.
Anything from China I have sent to Washington to pick up. Takes on average 3 to 6 days from China vs 2 or 3 months to Canada.

Begs the question: Where does CBSA store it all?

Actually I feel quite bad because I filed an ebay complaint and got fully refunded only for the parcel to show up after 4 months.

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
I've had stuff stuck in a CBSA warehouse in Ontario, but usually the culprit is Canada Post and they're just inefficient. I've had more items from the US flagged for charges than from China or the UK, and customs can hang on to it for a few months. Where they get off charging me tax and a $5 fee on used fishing rods from the US is infuriating but there is no real recourse. It's been my experience that large parcels are more likely to get stopped than small ones. When ordering from any internet seller like ebay or ali or dhgate or amazon it's important to go through the steps to extend coverage time if something is late just in case. I placed 2 similar orders from 2 sellers at the same time and one came 2 months later than the other, but I made sure to contact him and let him know I was waiting. I got ripped off for $35 once but now I know better, and I've save a lot more than that, or at least get more than $35 of enjoyment shopping online.

I've had two Canada Post parcel deliveries in the last week both arriving on the date Best Buy, Walmart and Canada Post tracking said they would arrive.

OMG that reminds me...
Ex hubby and I went to Santorini in 2001 to try to patch up our marriage. We sent jolly postcards about how much fun we were having to friends, family and his work. We got home and split up a couple of weeks later.
In 2002 when we were in the middle of a nasty divorce the postcard we sent to his work turned up!!! You can imagine how that made him feel 😩😳😢

Plan on changing a few things in the house. Getting rid of some things, changing use of others, moving stuff into different rooms, adding one or two things etc
How I wish I'd brought my IKEA extending dining table over.
Began yesterday with a massive clearout of clothing. Bags and bags of stuff. Of course, it's now all in the way.
We've given plenty of clothing to charities before (how come we still have so much left?) but it takes so long to find and get someone to come and collect. I'm impatient to get it out of the way so it's going out with the trash in a couple of days.

We bundled up all Stinky's toys and bedding including fantastic orthopaedic dog beds and towels and a load of dog treats which we bought for when we were in the UK but obviously he never had and a huge bag of low fat kibble and took it all up to the local SPCA- sad for us but on the other hand they were so grateful for it all so in the end it made it very rewarding for us they went to dogs who really needed stuff. They said " how many dogs did you have with all this stuff?" - we replied.."just the one"!
