After being on the national news everyone will probably get unlimited supply and a case for Christmas.

I often say that not enough people play chess, if they did they would automatically pose the question 'What if?'. In this case the answer would have been obvious and Manoir Notre Dame owner Val Robichaud would have confined his/her (not sure if Val in unisexual) unwritten letter to the virtual bin where it belonged. Instead, he/she'll be forever known, like Thatcher was, as the 'Moncton bog roll snatcher' only a hair's breadth more acceptable than the 'Boston Strangler' and it might be just as difficult to wipe the stain away, given the apparent rationing of available cleaning material.

I heard 2 shots about 10 seconds apart at 5:10, sounded like a pistol about a block away but because my window is in between the houses I can't tell from which direction. I was right on for distance though! When my neighbour went to get her bus for work she saw cops looking in the gutter (probably for casings) indicating they suspect a drive-by.

A few days ago there was a report in the paper about an elderly couple living in a special care home, together, but the husband's health had deteriorated and he'd been assessed as needing a level of care that home isn't equipped to provide.

So he had to move to another home, 30 minutes away,but the timing was unfortunate just before christmas. Presumably a vacancy - especially one so close - was needed and one came up, hence the timing.

So the report was about their first christmas apart and he said he'd miss holding her hand in bed. Although it was reported they would both be at their daughter's home for xmas anyway.

There was an accompanying photo of a goodbye kiss and, of course, it went viral.

So today, the paper follows up with news that the owner of the home has been getting insults and threats - hope you get cancer and die, sort of thing - from people throughout Canada and the US on their FB page and the phone. Apparently they even had a call from Mexico.

It's bad enough people do this sort of thing but why on earth would they think it's the home's fault?

<shakes head>

Cone to New Brunswick where we rob banks unarmed.

Bloke and a woman rob a bank (no weapons shown) but they're caught because while making their 'getaway' they stopped at a Tim Hortons drive-thru.

Calgary made one at the intersection of Macleod Trail and 162 Avenue south that opened last year.

It seems to work well.
