Re: Local newspaper stories
I've never heard of a community piano but apparently there is one in the small town of Sussex, NB (pop 4000).
A nearby resident was so tired of disturbed sleep from passers by playing it in the middle of the night that he took a power drill to the lid to bolt it shut.

Vaseline works as a decent lip balm for dry lips. It always seems popular in workplaces that work outside often and in dry environments inside.
But doesn't seem as if as this guy was using it for dry lips.

If I recall, you are an American. I hope you are. Otherwise, you have developed a talent for Brit-style smutty innuendo.

Moncton nicer than Vancouver - official
(that's the heading I wanted to use for a new thread but I thought better of it )
Today's Moncton newspaper carries a story about a Syrian family. I remember reading the original report about how they were in Moncton but they had other family (including a brother) in Vancouver and went over to join them.
Apparently Moncton has received 77 Syrian refugee families (well done Moncton) and just five have moved on to other places, while two settled in other places have moved to Moncton.
Anyway, this family with all the advantages of other family in Vancouver after two months of being there have returned saying they prefer Moncton to raise their family and start new lives.
They felt safe and welcome here.
They are now trying to persuade the other family to move from Vancouver to join them.

Someone told me they went to Shannon's and ordered the corned beef and on arrival it turned out to be canned corned beef! May explain in part the midnight visit to the bank.

They should make a movie about this. They could call it "Goldringer"
