I can't see that anyone has mentioned Black Mirror on Netflix...it's really worth a watch. Some good solid British actors who you could all recognize (but I couldn't name) and some very good stories. It's a series but they are stand alone episodes.

Very different...in the future, but not far, and very soon the scenarios are all quite probably and disturbingly possible. Enjoyable and thought provoking

I've been hearing about it. Is it individual episodes or a long series? Also what is the gore and psychological scary factor?

Yes. Had it for a few years via computer which was also set up to go to the TV via the PS2 (I think) and is now available from the TV provider we changed to a couple of years ago.

But unless I'm confusing it with another series I think I have an episode or two already downloaded to a thumbdrive from other streaming sources.

Since I watched the first part of Collateral today, I also watched the first part of Hard Sun. Not sure I'll stick all the way with that. See how part 2 goes.

Need to check out McMafia and Shetland will be a must based on the others.

Not too bothered about Silent Witness. unless some tells me it's streets ahead of the original.

It looks like not just BE members want to find ways to watch UK tv although I wouldn't say post #9 has the most high brow viewing habits.

A few years ago, maybe. It all seems to be old stuff (which is fine if you've not seen TV for a few years because you can watch as new) but I noticed "Premieres" and looked. Something called Five By Five with Idris Elba is in there from a year ago but as far as I could tell all the other Premieres were older and that's without considering non premiere stuff.

I'm fine with my easy access to BBC iPlayer and ITV equivalent. I've used C4 too. Netflix gets better and better. Anything else is covered by the usual streaming sites if you're not bothered by the odd Casino or Porno ad popping up which is easily closed.

If there was a big clampdown on all the ways of accessing these things and it was made either impossible or risky to do, I think I'd be well satisfied with Netflix.

Just finished watching season 1 of The Code on Netflix. Quite complicated Australian crime drama and quite compelling to watch. The trick is keeping track of who is who and how they are connected to one another.

I think it may appeal to an older demographic who want to watch something on their TV and not somehow connect it from a computer to the TV. Being able to watch As Time Goes By whenever wherever sort of says it all. Plus Are you being Served, Keeping up Appearances and Last of the Summer Wine sort of tells you the target audience and League of Gentlemen seems like the odd one out there.
