Hi Melsa, further to my last post. My wife has corrected me in saying that to 'practise' as a nurse in BC you need to register with your provincial body (in the case of Ontario I believe this is the College of Nurses of Ontario) and pass the Canadian Registered Nurse Examination (CRNE). You may be able to get a temporary licence to practise while you pass the exam. Hope this helps.

Ah, that makes sense. This route is much faster than FSW that most inthis thread are on. Well done, you must be delighted!!!!!

wee update

Our police certs are now in CIC...only one short week since they were requested

We emailed them yesterday to tell them that according to the tracking service they were signed by Aziz. We asked them to let us know if they needed anything else prior to passport requests and got a reply this morning

Dear Mr. Xxxxx,

Thank you for this information. We will be in contact shortly.

Yours sincerely,

XXX

Lets hope PPR is following shortly.

Congrats Do you have any idea when your medical results were received by the visa office?

We took medicals on 19th April, results got to VO on 28th April, and we got fresh PCC+RPRF+Schedule 1s to them by 16th May (delay cos of PCC delay over the holidays, then Royal Mail delayed by not sending our special delivery at all!!).

So guess we're looking at another week or two for PPR? Just trying to guess if the bottleneck is their looking at our PCC+RPRF+Schedule 1s, or their medical division reviewing our medical results?

As for passports - if you post to them, courier to them or drop them off using "drop off" box, it is likely to take around 6 weeks, but can take longer.

If you deliver them in person on a Thursday between 2pm and 3pm, you can collect them with visa stamps in 2 weeks later on the Thursday between 2pm and 3pm, pretty much guaranteed.

So basically either 6 weeks (ish) or exactly 2 weeks depending on which method you want to use!

Wayne.

Hi Waggle, I checked today with Visa Medicals and they were received by London on 27th April so looking at your timeline you should hear anytime . It has been really hard to concentrate at work today...so much to think about! Does anyone know how you go about updating you passports if they expire once you have had your visa's stamped? I know you have to have at least a year left on your passports from the date of your medical. Our youngest childs passport expires in June and we have to land on or before April 13 2012, thinking it may just be worth getting her another 5 year one prior to leaving????
