Re: Introduction Thread (Somewhere to say Hi)
Hi all - just back in France after a hiatus of three years in Thailand, but was living in various parts of France for the best part of two decades before, it hasn't changed much!
Still hankering after Chiang Mai and Thailand, but my main home is here in France, and I've been dragged back, kicking and struggling, for family reasons...
I've lived in the Vienne (student teacher for a year way back in the 70s), Lyon (a couple of years), the Savoie (five years), but mainly down south in the Vaucluse, at the foot of the Ventoux near Vaison (eleven years in total).
Studied to be a professional translator and interpreter, but I've also edited and written for expat and French magazines, and run a shipping business since 1990. These days those I'm 3/4 retired.
Looks like a fun forum, with lots of info, and I hope I can contribute a little now and again

Re: Introduction Thread (Somewhere to say Hi)
Hello everyone
I just landed in Bordeaux a week ago and I know approx 60 French words so I am a bit worried I won't find work or ever talk to anyone other than my partner ever again, but getting out of the comfort zone is always interesting.

Thought I ought to say hello.
I'm Trish, living in the Orne, Normandy. Been here 10 years, and three years part-time before that. I'm a writer, specialising in France, and married to a writer and photographer. No kids, five cats, one dog... Trish
