I'd really love to meet Grayling over a pint And you of course, Margaret - though probably a quiet beer garden for Grayling rather than our last entertainment

it was in the news today, 77,000 Aussies left permanently within the less 12 months, highest number ever. Most of them skilled. There is more to the world than sunshine

A decent night's sleep is mine! I have been so looking forward to summer but between being eaten alive by mozzies every night and the sun/birds up at 4am every morning I am shattered. It's funny how you forget these things during winter!

Yea - permanent's a funny old word isn't it. The Moving Back section of this site is full of people who left the UK 'permanently'. And yes, there's more to the world than sunshine, but when you're stuck on the Hanger Lane Gyratory, in drizzle ...

I'd be interested to know if these "Aussies" included Brits who had taken up citizenship and then left.

Just read the report...

"Those leaving are almost equally divided between Australian born and overseas born."
