Hi there, i know it's a while since you posted this but i just wondered if you had any responses or info on wall and floor tiling as my husband is the same and we are hoping to get there the same way except we are looking at western oz, the same as you,any info would be really appreciated. As far as i know tilers are on the SOL so maybe we could sort out employer sponsership or something.

Hi all.
I am a tiler and currently applying to emmigrate (Perth). Have a stepbrother there and Dad has been 4 times and bought back newspapers.
Don`t know if it`s easy to get a job but see a few advertised at 250$ a day - cheers James

Hi Daisy. It sounds good although I don`t know about the cost of living only what I have seen on the forums here.I am going in April to check it out for 3 weeks.
Have you looked into it or using an agent? I am self employed and have been for years and it was a lot of hassle getting the refernces e.t.c but luckily I worked for a couple of big firms which adds a bit of weight hopefully. Also I am not "qualified" but they don`t think this will be a problem - cheers James.

HI James
Sorry, it's been a while since i've been on the forum but i've just found your post. We would be aiming at WA too. My husband has sub contracted for quite a few years and like you he didn't have formal qualifications but will have no problems getting references etc. Dont want to use an agent simply for the finances side.Would be great if you could keep in touch and let us know how you're doing with your application etc.
Thanks Carol (daisymoo)

Same as you, hubby is a tiler with no 'qualifications' as such but been tiling for approx 17 yrs. we are only just going trhu the process of getting his trade assessed n are just debating whether to use an agent or not as u said, its the finance side there. Just wondered what stage u are at n any advice?
