Default cooks wages??

hi i'm new to the board. i'm a line cook in san fransisco but i was born in england and am moving back in a week to cook. i was wondering if any of you knew what a typical line cook will make over there. i'm a british citizen so i dont have to deal with work visas and whatnot. i have 2 1/2 years experience mainly in modern french but also pacific brim, cajun, south american and continental.in the san fransisco bay area the going rate is about 9-12 usd per hour for a line cook. i'll be in newcastle, so if theres any cooks over there who are in newcastle or even just england, how much should i be making over there?

Hi,
I'm not quite sure what a line chef is but guessing it is like a chef de partie. Not sure of the going rate but check this site.

www.caterer.com

It has regional jobs with a good idea on salaries.

Good Luck

Mick
