I'm 30 and have just moved to OZ from the uk. I have worked for the past 5 years in sales, but now in OZ fancy a trade. Am i to old for an apprenticeship. does anyone know of anyone who could offer me an apprenticeship? my first choice would be an electrician. If anyone could offer any help or advice it would be really appreciated. I am living in Belgrave south, Melbourne.

Not sure how much I can help other than tell you that you can get an adult apprenticeship. The main problem is convincing an employer to give you it instead of a school leaver. I think the difference they have to pay between someone your age and a teenage is about $300 a week, making a teen a cheaper option. I had a pack sent to me about 4 months ago in Perth outlining a lot of the info you need, but as I got a job I didn't use it. Do a search on the internet.
Good luck,
Tony
