Anyone give me some advice on moving to Canada?

Im British and married to a canadian, she wants to go home as very home sick and im happy that she wants me to join her:

Is the process hard and where do i start, we have no kids as of yet and was thinking maybe we should wait until settled in Canada perhaps?

She is a band 3 care worker and i run my own building company and we could possibly walk into jobs due to her friend contacts, we could also have £40k from house equity to invest in another house over there.

Im really worried about the whole thing because if i fail the process or get rejected she will still be home sick

Any advice will be great thanks.

First of all welcome to BE - you have certainly come to the right place for help and advice about moving abroad.
We have a forum dedicated to Canada, which you will find by clicking the 'forum index' tab on the top left of this page. Scroll down the list of countries, double click on Canada and you're in.
Just say hi like you did here and you can chat with expats who have either made the move or are in the process of doing so. There is also a very useful section all about visas and immigration on there, which will help you out regarding the procedures you need to follow. If there are any questions you can't find the answer to in the immigration section, ask on the Cnaada forum as one of the good folks on there will be happy to answer.

Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.

Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.

There are quite a few members in the Canada forum that live on Vancouver Island. If you do a search for Vancouver Island (see search tab just below the BE logo), you should come across some of the great information they have shared.
