Default Retired and heading back to UK

Hi new to the site. Have been retired for sometime and have decided to move back to UK to be near family etc.
Sold home in Aust but not ready to buy in UK wondering about how to maximise return on capital, which country to put money in. Interest rates seem appalling in UK & don't think I would be allowed to invest in ISA's as not taxpayer.
Interested to know if anyone has similar experience.

Hi Bronson and welcome to BE

AS the welcome in is for introductions, I've put copies of your post in the main Australian forum (http://britishexpats.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=54), and the Moving Back to the UK forum (http://britishexpats.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=61) so hopefully you should get some advice on the best places for your money. Have a look around both forums for other advice on things to do before leaving / arriving back etc and shout if you need a hand with anything

Hi Bronson and welcome to the forum

I imagine you can hold Aus Dollar deposits back in ol Blighty. Despite rates having gone down, still one of the better interest rates and a good strong currency (in my humble opinion).
