Default Newbie: Relocating from the UK to Oz

Hi there,

Just a short introduction after a few weeks of visiting this forum and more specifically the pages dedicated to Australia.

Having received our permanent residence visas for Australia in November 2013 and activating them in April 2014, we are now ready to take the plunge and relocate to Australia. "We" are myself; my husband and our 2 children (boys, aged 9 & 6 yrs old). Our plan is to move to Sydney, however we are keeping an open mind and considering Adelaide and Melbourne too. We are considering a move either in December of this year, or March/April 2017.

I have gathered a lot of helpful information from the BritishExpat forum already and hope to continue to utilise the expert advice and experiences posted as we embark on our journey. I'll be sure to ask for help where appropriate and as we go through this experience, hope to be able to share our own experiences with others.

Looking forward (with some trepidation) on this amazing opportunity and experience ahead of us.

Welcome to BE.

Exciting times for you all as you plan the next phase of your life Down Under. As you've already experienced there is a wealth of knowledge to be found in our Australia Forums. If you can't find info on a particular subject open a new thread. I'm sure you will find the regulars very helpful.

Good luck.
