Hi everyone!

I'm Jo and I will shortly be moving to Sutherland in Sydney, Australia, to be with my long term partner, Simon.

I leave in a little over a month, so I just wanted to get a feel for this forum and hopefully meet some expats in my new area!

I would love to hear from you.

I am an artist/art consultant and love painting, photography mixed in with sci-fi/fantasy books and films.

Welcome to BE.
We have a forum dedicated to Australia, where you will be able to chat with other expats who have made the move and are living and working out there - plenty of them in and around Sydney too so you'll be in good company.#You will find this forum by clicking on the 'forum index' tab on the top left corner of this page. Scroll down the countries then double click on Australia and you're in. You will see a list of threads, so feel free to join in any one you choose, or start a new one to say hi. There is a thread called 'The Barbie' where everyone goes for general chat and banter, which I am sure you will enjoy for a burst of that Brit humour.

In the meantime I wish you all the very best with your move and good luck in your new home.

Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.

Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.

I work in the city and originally from Kent/London.

We are interested in exploring the national parks and scenery and amateur photography.

Oh wow, I used to work in the newsagent by Sevenoaks station when I was a kid, I grew up between Orpington and Knockholt, small world.
