New To BE Site - Living in Rhode Island
Hi Everyone,
I am new to the site as of today but been living here in Rhode Island (New England) USA for nearly 7 years well it actually will be come March 12th 2012.
Does anyone miss being away from England? I find it hard sometimes missing family the main reason but I miss little things like the TV and just being able to go to the store and pick up foods and snacks that I enjoy. I am very limited at my local shop to find anything I actually like.
Thanks,
Kris

I have been in New Jersey for 15 years and still miss home. Nowadays more and more things are available via the internet...UK TV programs, British goodies...even M&S deliver to the US now.
I see you have already found your way into our US Forums...we regularly discuss all of the above topics. I'm sure you'll enjoy taking part in the forums...as well as being informative we have a lot of fun along the way.
f you require any assistance finding your way around BE's many forums we have a team of concierges who will act as your tour guide...they will be pleased to help you. The concierge for the US forums is Kaffy Mintcake...please contact her if you need pointing in the right direction.
Any problems or concerns should be addressed to a mod or admin. The mods for the US Immigration forums are Bob, MsElui and penguinsix.
Please give me a shout if I can be of further help. I look forward to seeing you in the US forums.

Welcome to BE!
What brought you to RI? Where abouts? It's an odd little state from what I've seen of it...
Plenty of Brits not far away though, up in Boston and along the south of MA, Quincy etc.
I know what you mean about the treats and tele though, but there's plenty of ways of getting UK tele, so that's less of an issue these days

I actually live in a town called Barrinton which is 20 minute drive by car to the capital city of Providence. It is a small state and some places are great to visit. I got married to a RI girl back in 2003 but am not married no more with reasons that are quite upsetting to myself.

I'm glad you joined the site and am sorry to hear that you're unhappy about no longer being married. Even if we can't produce your favorite goodies at the local store, perhaps you'll enjoy the banter of people from the UK.
Welcome. I look forward to getting to know you.
