New to LA
Hi my name is Debbie my husband and I have recently moved to LA from the UK with his job. I'm loving it here but missing my UK friends and family and certain ingredients and british TV. But the weather and lifestyle is making up for some of it!! I've just come on here today to try and find out about the green card process for my adult children, but also to find some others who have recently moved to chat to. My husband and I are in out early 50's, so anyone out there in a simular position would love to hear from you!
I've been having a look round this site and looks like it will be useful.

Re: New to LA
Hello and a big welcome to BE.
Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.
Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.
Please contact me if I can give you any further help.

Welcome to BE Debbie.
We have quite a few members living in the LA area...they usually hang out in the US forums. If you take a look through some of the threads in the US and Trailer Park forums you will find several threads about British goodies and UK TV programs. I see you have already asked about GCs for your family...the people who post in the Immigration forum will do their best to help you.
If you require any assistance finding your way around BE's many forums we have a team of concierges who will act as your tour guide...they will be pleased to help you. The concierge for the US forums is Kaffy Mintcake...please contact her if you need pointing in the right direction.
Any problems or concerns should be addressed to a mod or admin. The mods for the US Immigration forums are Bob, MsElui and penguinsix.
Please give me a shout if I can be of further help. I look forward to seeing you in the US forums.

Hi Debbie,
As JerseyGirl pointed out, we have many members in the Los Angeles area. Glad you found the site! Please don't hesitate to ask if I can help you find your way around (on BE that is, I would be pretty useless for LA).
