Default Moving to Houston

Hi,
In two months time I will be moving to Houston Texas as a 'supportive spouse'!
My husband left the UK today and I join in March. I'm excited but also anxious about this new beginning and will need the support of the expat forums to help me settle as I will be spending quite a lot of time on my own until I make so new friends. Any guidance very welcome!!

Hi Brown18

First of all welcome to BE - and worry no more, you have certainly come to the right forum to get support. We all know how daunting a move to a new country can be.
We have a forum which is dedicated to then USA, which I would recommend you check out, as there are lots of expats on that forum who are living and working in Houston and Texas.
You will find it by clicking on the 'forum index' tab on the top left corner of this page. Scroll down the list of countries, double click on USA and you're in. Just pop in and say hi, and ask any questions you have. I am sure it won't be long bnefore you are chatting with lots of other Brits who have experienced you are currently going through, so you will be in good company.
And on top of that, you will be making friends in your new neighbourhood to be.

All the best with your move and good luck in your new home

Dread - x

Hello and a big welcome to BE.

Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.

Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.

Please contact me if I can give you any further help.

Hi & Brown18. Immigrating to another Country is certainly one heck of a Roller-Coaster ride. Most of us have been on it & survived .

Good luck with all your plans & happy posting
