Smile meet up in Pointe Noire

Hello to you all, my husband and I are from Aberdeen, Scotland and have relocated to Muanda DRC with his work. Muanda is a short 30 min flight from Pointe Noire and is where we go for grocery shopping and will be spending some weekends there too. We would love to get to know some other expats to meet up with while we are there :-)

Hello and welcome to the site.

Wow Scotland to The Congo...that must be quite a change!

I think you would be best to repost your questions about meet-ups in our Africa Forum ...there maybe some expats around who are in the area.

BE is a large expat website...so it's understandable that you may have problems finding your way around our many forums. We have a team of concierges who will direct you around the website. You can find a list of their names at the bottom right hand side of this page.

For all other problems or concerns please contact a moderator...their names are located at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index page. Moderators' names are in bold font.

I hope you enjoy being part of our community...in the meantime if you require help at all please shout out. Welcome once again.

Hi Scots-in-Muanda,

Welcome to BE. How long have you been in Muanda? Do you enjoy it?

Hi and a warm welcome to BE from Spain.

Hope you find some Brits to meet up with. It sounds like you have a very different life now, do you have to fly for all of your shopping or is it because there is more choice where you fly to?

Rosemary

Hi Rosemary, we were previously expat in Paris before moving here so life is very different. Tomorrow is the first shopping experience for me, this will be a fortnightly event to buy the majority of our groceries (meat etc) i am pretty sure there must be some local places to get things, i am sure we will work it out over time.

Sounds like a great adventure. I love getting to know new areas like that, you never know what's around the next corner
