Looking for Advice
Hi Guys,
I am a Site Engineer working for a major construction firm in UK for the past 9yrs. I have been applying for similar jobs in Australia for the last 12 months mainly through <<<SNIP>>> Even though I have lot of experience in Commercial construction sector in UK, I am yet to receive any positive response for an opportunity in Australia. I have permanent spouse visa(sub class 100). So there is no issue for me to go and work there. Despite having all the qualification and experience I am yet to secure an opportunity. So my question is why I cant get an offer? Do I have to go to Australia to get an opportunity? Please any advice greatly appreciated.

Hi Renuka
I see you have already found your way to our Australia forum, which is probably the best place to get an answer to your query.
We also have an Engineering forum where you can chat with other folk in the same profession who are working abroad - and I am sure you will find a number who are living and working in Oz. Chatting with fellow professionals may help in some way. You will find this foru by clicking the 'forum index' tab on the top left of this page. Scroll down past the listed country names to the next section entitled 'working abroad by profession'. It is in there.
This forum also has a 'Jobs wanted' section where you can advertise your skills, and has a 'job offers' section - so keep checking in as you never know !
That just leaves me to say welcome to BE and wish you all the very best in finding the job you want soon

Hello and a big welcome to BE.
Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.
Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.
Please contact me if I can give you any further help.
