From London to Sydney

From London to Sydney
Hi all
Just moved to Sydney last week and am looking for some people to meet up with for a drink, share experiences and get me on my feet. I'm a 35 year old teacher but haven't got a job yet and my partner is waiting for his visa to come through in the UK (so finding it socially daunting!). Loving it so far, even though I'm staying in a nasty hostel until I move in to my housesit next week. Is it always a Thursday night meet up or do you ever do it on another day? Would be very interested.

Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.
Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.

I recommend you check out the Australia forum where you will find plenty of other expats in Sydney. Ask on this forum about meet ups and someone will pop up and let you know when and where the next ones are, then you can start making some new friends to help you settle in.
