Dear all,
We are delighted to join your community and move to the Ayamonte area.
We are a semiretired couple originally from Finland but have lived in the Algarve (Loulé) since spring 2017 and worked here as Real estate consultants. While we had earlier experience it proved very time consuming and did not let us fully enjoy the life here; so we quit last August.
The good thing about that job was that our office also sold apartments in Isla Canela, and we often took clients there to explore the area, which then led to US falling in love with the area. So from the beginning of March we will move there
Even though one of us is already retired, we want to be active and now do independent/occasional/ temporary work where we can decide the hours and amount of work ourselves. (Ex. freelance translating, website localization)
We both also have a sports background and we started Adult Outdoor Fitness programs last fall in Vilamoura. We don't know if you have that there – or interest in that – but if there is interest we are happy to give more details on the forum (if it is allowed?)
Golf is another thing we haven't played for many years, but we're starting again so you'll see us on the Esuri Range soon (just to see if it can still be called golf
We have initially rented an apartment from Esuri until June and then we will look more closely at where and how we want to live in the future. Any advice, views and recommendations are welcome.
We will be happy to tell you more about us and look forward to meeting you.
Thanks again and all the best

Good Morning Thomas and Tarja
Welcome to BE and thank you for that very helpful introduction to yourselves.
We ask that all new members take a moment to have a read of the Forum Rules for guidance in posting, etc. It can be found here: http://britishexpats.com/site-rules/
Ayamonte is a very popular destination and as such it has it's own "club" in the Spain forum. Should be able to find lots of friendly people and assistance, if needed, there.

Again, welcome to BE. If you have any difficulties with the site, please contact one of our super moderators for assistance.
