Default Hi Newbie Here with a few questions.

Hi Everyone, My Belgian girlfriend and I (U.K. Citizen) currently live in Melbourne, Australia and we are relocating to Southern Spain (Martos area) We are currently looking at houses to buy with view to going over to Spain in September for a looksee and hopefully to secure a property.
I have a few questions and I'd be grateful for a few answers from those of you in the know. I'm interested in knowing if there is any government stamp duty or any other expenses incurred I should be aware of prior to purchasing a property. Also, is the listed price of any particular property the actual price, or is some negotiation anticipated?
Lastly, given that I have a British passport and my girlfriend has a Belgian one, I am assuming that we have automatic right of residency as E.U. subjects. (BREXIT not withstanding.) Is there any bureaucratic stuff we have to do to reside full time in Spain? I'm thinking of stuff like right of residency, signing on with a doctor, registering with the local council for services and utilities etc.
One thing is for sure, we have had a gut full of Australia in general and Melbourne specifically, the latter which has evolved into a stressful, expensive and congested big city with little in the way of soul or substance. The sooner we can get out of here the better, so, like I mentioned earlier, any answers to these basic questions from a new comer ignorant of all the ins and outs of relocation to Spain, would be very gratefully received.

Hi, and welcome to the forum!
You'd best post again in the Spain forum, mentioning whether you've got jobs to go to/a business to set up. As you're not legally bound, you'll both need to prove regular incomes and healthcare coverage before being able to apply for Residency which isn't an automatic right (at least these are conditions for Residency in France and I presume they're valid in the Continental EU).
Anyway, the folk in Spain will be able to advise better than myself! I'm just welcoming you to the forum!
