Hi, from Chichester in the UK
Hello! My name is Cat and I've joined the British Expats forum as me and my partner are really hoping to move out to the US (ideally within the next few years but we're not sure how long it takes).
We both have degrees - Journalism and Media for me, Film for him. I appreciate these degrees do not hold the same gravitas as many others! My 'speciality' is digital marketing, whilst his is more on the video production and editing side.
Anyway, I'm hoping to find out the best course for us to move, preferably to somewhere in California but we also want to be realistic in how much we will be able to afford.
There are a lot more questions I have so I will be hunting out the relevant threads...but for now if anyone has any questions about me I'll be happy to answer

Hi, and welcome to BE.
Pop over to our US forums and you'll get loads of good advice there - any visa related questions should be put in the immi section of the forum, general life in the US questions in the main US forums.
Note that if one of you does get a job offer resulting in a visa, then you'll need to be married for the other to accompany you automatically, so if you're currently unmarried that's something to factor in.
But the US bods will have loads of good advice for you, best of luck.

Welcome
I suggest a close study of the rules on visas.
