Hey - Moving To Canada
Hey everyone, figured I would introduce myself here. I'm "new" here in the sense I've only just registered, but I've been moping around in the background looking at all the posts in the Canada section for a good year or so.
Looking to move to Canada hopefully in a year or two. The one big advantage I have is my grandfather was born in Canada, so I actually have Canadian citizenship. So in terms of work permits and residency.....no problems there as I don't need them!! Only problem is getting myself across soon and seeing how things go. Hopefully looking to go to Alberta, Calgary. Was there in September last year and really enjoyed it. Let's see what happens  |

I suggest you post details in the Immigration sub-forum of the Canada bit. |

Err, where was your parent whose father was Canadian born?

"Congratulations and good luck"
You are right, if you hold a Canadian passport, then no problem with all you have said. I am now legible and applying for my Canadian citizenship, been here 4 yrs and had permanent residency the past 3. All good  |

I don't imagine there would be any problem. It was my grandfather who was born in Canada, and I already hold a Canadian passport that confirms me as a Canadian citizen (and I've had it a couple of years or so) so I don't see any problem there.
