Hi KayBex, welcome to BE. 
Most people seem to stay in the subforum for where they live, and perhaps the general and/or Moving Back to the UK (MBttUK) forums, but there are a few pf us who flit around the world and pop up in different places, as indeed I do.
I am also in the US, currently in NC where I have lived for over 19 years, after a short time in NY and an even shorter one in VA, where my in-laws lived at the time.
BTW please take a moment to review the forum rules, also linked third-from-the-left in the top row menu bar above.
