Default Hello from Mrsgiroux!

Good morning to you all!

Thought I'd introduce myself and my family before I get stuck in and start asking questions and stalking this great website. We currently live in the UK, my husband has recently just left the army and now works abroad for long stretches. We have 3 children, an amazing daughter who is 3, and twin boys who are just 6 months - a delightful handful!!

Our plan (or dream) is to move to France or Spain. My husband can basically travel from anywhere to get to where he needs to work, and since we met we've both had a desire to live abroad. So now we plan to save, investigate our options and take a leap!

My main concern is our children, getting the right school and settling them in - mainly my daughter. She's had 4 different homes so she's a resilient wee girl and she's very good at socialising.

Anyway, hope everyone is well!

Jo.

to BE Mrsgiroux.

I recommend that you take a look around our Europe forum. The link I have given you will take you to the General Europe forum...at the top of the page you will see a list of sub forums. You will see that we have dedicated forums for both France and Spain. We also have several ex-military members who post in the Europe forums.

Any questions you have about moving to France or Spain...ask away...the lovely people who frequent those forums will do their best to help you.

Please give me a shout if you need help with anything site related.

Hi, welcome to the forum! Look forward to seeing you again on the France forum, where we're all here to help. Do you speak either French or Spanish? If you're going to be on your own when your OH is away, you'll need to be able to communicate with the locals and authorities.
Here in France, your daughter would go to Maternelle - there's one in every Commune and in a large town you would be assigned to the one nearest your home. No choice, but I've never heard of a "bad" Maternelle/Primaire.
Come to the France forum with more questions!
