Hello to all
Hi everyone,
I recently joined Britishexpats.com and wanted to introduce myself. This is the first "forum" I have every joined so I'm not really sure how it all works yet! My name is Brett and I currently live in Blackpool but will be moving to São Paulo, Brazil, to be with the woman I love who is a wonderful Brazilian called Fabiola... We lived in London together for a year but she has had to return to Brazil for work and because her uk student visa expired when her course finished. Anyway, I'm off for an adventure of a lifetime and we plan to marry soon after I arrive and start the process of my getting my residence status (any advice on that from would be very welcome). I have a daughter in the uk so will need to come back to the uk regularly to see her. I have some savings and Fabiola has a good job but I will need some sort of income at some point! Again any advice on that front very welcome... I'm an IT consultant with 20 years experience and can turn my hand to almost any IT Delivery project role. I don't speak any Portuguese yet (Fab speaks fantastic English) and I'm going to try and learn, previous attempts at learning a language, such as gcse French didn't go too well but I am somewhat more motivated this time around.
Anyway, that's me saying hi.
Brett
