Hello! *dips toe in the water*
Hi all,
Just wanted to pop in and say hello as a newbie. My family and I are looking to move to Aus, but we have no idea where to start! I am a student midwife and DH runs his own business supplying and fitting most types of flooring. Both of our jobs are on the skills list (pending me qualifying), but I had read that I needed work experience if I wanted to work as a midwife in Aus. The whole thing is giving me a headache and this is just the beginning! If anyone can guide me in the right direction (and pass the Anadins!), I will be super-grateful!
TIA,
LadyLauren

Hello Lauren...welcome to the site.
Do you have any idea which part of Australia you would like to move to? We have a huge expat membership living Down Under...they are a great bunch of people and they will help you with any questions you may have. Take a look at our Australia Forums and post any questions you have in there. The link I have given you will take you to the main index page of the Australia Forum...at the top of the page you will see a list of sub forums. The top forum is the Immigration Forum...the Main forum is for topics relating to Australia and The Barbie is for general chit chat. Also take a look in the BE Wiki...you'll find loads of useful info in there.
Before you begin posting please take time to read through the Site Rules and any stickied threads or announcements that may be posted at the top of each forum's index page.
Alistairboyle and Kelli28 are the concierges for the Australia forums...so if you have any problems finding your way around our many forums please contact them.
For all other concerns or problems please contact a moderator or admin. Every BE forum has at least one moderator dedicated to that forum...Australia has 3...Cresta57, Monneypenny20, and Sonlymewalter.
I hope you enjoy your time with us and don't forget to shout out should you require any help.

Many thanks for the info JG! We'd really like to head to QLD, but as we'd like to go immediately after graduation (for me), I ideally need a sponsorship, so until we know our options, we're open-minded. I'm off to explore the site now - thanks again!
